OVERVIEW
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The Mark H. McCormack Sport Management Future Leaders Conference is focused on bridging the gap between classroom learning and real world experience. This uniquely-styled conference is constructed around providing students the opportunity to complete a case study based in a sport industry segment of their choice.

This student-inspired, student-driven conference will host both UMass and non-UMass students, who will be working hand-in-hand with industry professionals to complete real world case studies based on their personal interests. After hearing a keynote address from a high-ranking professional in the industry, students will split up into their registered industry segment.

During these segmented breakout sessions, students will hear from two moderators and work with several other students to complete an assigned case study. These small groups will foster communication and collaboration as students put together a comprehensive response to the case study. After completing the assigned case study, students will be able to present their proposals to the industry professionals in their breakout rooms and receive credible feedback on the quality and feasibility of their work.

Upon the conclusion of the case study presentations, students will be able to grow their professional network in networking session. The conference will conclude with a "Young Guns" panel comprised of industry professionals under the age of 30 who have found great success to this point in their careers.
